Ive been researching the K-series swap for about 3 months now. Im 100% sure that its the route I want to go. Just based on the fact that its very quick with just a stock motor, and it can be a very reliable swap if done right.. However, I'm not so sure that I could do the motor swap myself just based on the fact of my lack of tools, and experience. I was wondering how much Hyrbird Racing cost to do the swap. And if its a swap that I should try to undertake (this will be my first swap). Any advice would be helpful.

Im still in the "saving" stages. lol. Im gonna try to get the motor from hmotorsonline.com first before anything. So that way I can get the rest of the parts easier. But yea, I just wanted to know the price for there labor.

SUPER EASY! if the swap is going into an EK9, anyone can do it. its all a matter of making sure you have everything for the swap.I have no experience with motor swaps and when i took on the challenge to install one in and ek, it was too easy. all you need is a craftsman tool kit. if anything, Hybrid-racing sells a DVD on How to do a K-swap. its very detailed and they use tools that you have in your tool box. unfortunately, the install is only for 92-95 civic but its pretty much the same except if its for the ek, you dont have to cut off the passenger side engine mount. other than that, you're set.

We charge about $2000.00 for the labor and we would need the car for at least a week. The swap should really only take a day or two but since labor is not the heart of our business we ask for at least a week with the car so we can complete our other daily tasks.

As darkoe stated, the swap is pretty easy. Especially if you have done a Bseries swap or have any friends who have. I would even say its much easier than a B swap just because your getting all new parts and install guides which tell you how everything is supposed to hook up. There is also the install dvd which was done in an EG but as stated before, its pretty much the same except for there is no stock mount bracket to cut off. Some people are afraid of the wiring aspect but its about 99% plug n play and we are always just a phone call or email away from helping you.

I have done b swaps but never a k....pretty soon though that will all change because I am swapping in my k myself. :) I think with all the parts hybrid racing makes and all the articles and parts list they pretty much explain it all...Thank you hybrid racing for making it all easier.

parker is absolutely right, this was my first swap EVER and i didnt have any problems. wiring is a piece of cake! HR practically makes everything for you. all you need to do is put in alittle elbow grease and you'll be fine!

intresting... maybe this is a swap i should consider doing myself. But still, around a ball park figure for a complete K20a swap would be nice! lol, And im talking done right! That way it performs well and is reliable.

Its really not all that hard to complete yourself but I can understand wanting to have someone who has completed it before knock it out for you.

We charge $2000 for labor on a Kswap and this is done the right way! Just like honda would do it :)

If your looking for a parts list price as well shoot an email over to sales@hybrid-racing.com and David and put together a parts list price for you.
