FYI~this is gonna be a longgg rebuild. i like taking my time ensuring that things come out jus the way i want it. my style. no rushing here. plus, i also have a lot on my plate right now (work, getting married in feb., house remodeling, and more shit including this rebuild). but, i will do my best to finish this up and get it on the 1320 by early or mid next year.
i was fortunate enough to run across an awsome deal on a K20r swap that i couldn't pass up on courtesy of jarel, thanks bro...i will make u proud. =) being that i like doing everythng right the first time, i decided to also clean up my messy bay with some GOLD here and there ;) and tuck the shit out of it while i was doing the swap. and aside from the engine compartment, i will also be prepping Daisy with Project Mandy's left over custom race parts. :o
and on with the show...

debating on getting rid of the studs on the firewall or keep them. it'll look cleaner without them, but i'm thinking of keeping them for the convenience of if i ever need to mount something, it's there. i don't need to drill. studs are already there and its much more convenient imo. we'll see...mostlikely it'll stay but who knows i'll prolly change my mind. what do u think?

here's a lil update. i got my parts back from powder coating. =)
http://images31.fotki.com/v1095/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_8628d-vi.jpg
it was a long and hard debate on what color to do my subframe. i know it may not be the smartest move because if of maintenance purposes and if my axle busts, believe me i've thought about it long and hard. but fuck it, can't do it big without taking a chacne. if anything, i can alaways redo it later. =)
http://images30.fotki.com/v484/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_8620d-vi.jpg
i know u won't be seeing the bumper support and stuff, but because this car is my keeper for life, i wanted to keep it from rusting up so i powder coated it and protected it.

mocked up the passenger mount.
hybrid racing / innovative mounts. good shit
first. put the mount in place and lined it up with the bottom torque mount holes.
http://images12.fotki.com/v253/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_9280d-vi.jpg
second. traced out the top holes of the mount
http://images46.fotki.com/v1453/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_9279d-vi.jpg
third. drilled them out. i sanded down the rough edges too while i was at it.
http://images44.fotki.com/v1448/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_9283d-vi.jpg
fifth. might have to longate and realign the holes to EASILY thread into the torque mount holes. i like that they thread into the holes to give it a lil more strenght and security.

okii dokiee here it is...
prepped and painted more parts today. the parts previously had powder coated white is now matching CW. i totally forgot my car was an off white when i sent the parts to get powdercoated. no worries though, i like that now if my paint ever chips it would atleast still be white underneath instead of black or somehting.
sanded down the VC

fuck so i go into the garage to work on the car, was like 1/2 an hour into it drilling the holes for the prop valve mount rivnuts and found this...

http://images49.fotki.com/v1504/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_9841d-vi.jpg
fuckin pissed off!!!! this is a definite setback. now i gotta repaint the rad support. =(looks like something fell on it or something there's a crease in the middle. i have no clue when i thappened, but usually inspect the car almost everytime i open the garage. *sighs.
well since i have to repaint the rad support i might as well paint up my door jams since those are og taffeta white. when i first bought the paint for the exterior, i wanted to keep the car TW so i didn't have to paint the interior, door jams, engine bay, etc. i didn't have the color code on me so i looked through the dupont book and found like 4 different taffeta whites listed for my year. so i guessed and when it was said and done, it ended up to be creamier than the original but the difference isn't that bad.
this time around i guess i'll paint the jams too now.
here's the turn out of my Innovative / Hybrid Racing mounts. color matched w/ the subframe and the rest of the bay/car.

Any reason why you chose to have your engine harness come out by the headlight?
(without thinking about it thoroughly) i originally wanted to try to run a/c but couldn't think of a clean place to mount the connector with all the a/c and heatershit under the dash so i ran it at its current location. then acouple of months andmore thought, the pulley was in the way for the harness so i completely threwout the a/c idea and jus left the harness where its at. and also i wanted to keep as much off the firewall as possible. =)

the ktuned/etd racing traction bars serves double purpose; 1. help with wheel hop 2. helps u relocate ur half size or full sized radiator with its bolt radiator mounts. the bars are made from high quality cromoly tubing and the quality is   it's easy ass hell to install too...check it out...
1st) is remove the factory tow hooks on both sides of the car (6 14mm bolts)
http://images51.fotki.com/v1543/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0017d-vi.jpg
(optional)because i had the tow hooks off and painted tons of layers of paint and clear i wanted to clean up the holes first with a tap before screwing in the bolts.
http://images51.fotki.com/v1542/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0019d-vi.jpg
(optional) again because i painted the bay and the tow hook area i didn't want the paint to like tear off crack off with the car so i greased up the area and the bar so it would go in nice and smoothly with it getting caught.
http://images110.fotki.com/v1539/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0020d-vi.jpg
http://images110.fotki.com/v1539/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0021d-vi.jpg
2nd) slide in the bar (fits like a glove) and bolt down the 14mm bolts on both sides.
http://images50.fotki.com/v1525/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0022d-vi.jpg
3rd) the bars and the hardware come in pieces so assemble them like i have pictured.
http://images51.fotki.com/v1543/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0023d-vi.jpg
4th)install bracket on lower control arms like soo...
http://images51.fotki.com/v1542/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0025d-vi.jpg
5th) assemble the arm on the bar like so...
http://images51.fotki.com/v1543/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0026d-vi.jpg
6th) install the arm on the arm bracket like so...
http://images51.fotki.com/v1541/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0027d-vi.jpg
7th) repeat steps 4-6 for the other side
http://images51.fotki.com/v1542/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_0030d-vi.jpg
viola, go racing and enjoy better 60fts.

jus for u nicky....
<<REWIND: 4 days ago...
ran into a problem. with the lower radiator mounts maxed out the upper radiator hose doesn't clear the rbc manifold, sandwich and TB.

http://images51.fotki.com/v1548/photos/1/1311031/6917360/IMG_7029d-vi.jpg
i coulda simply jus ordered the etd racing/ktuned bolt on lower brackets, but i was worried it wasn't in stock or it wasn't gonna get here in time so instead i trimmed the traction bar mounting and moved it over an inch.

Thanks For the Updates!;)
updates are a lil late but they are up. =) (actually the car is pretty much done, but hey better late than never =) )
Loving the detail work that you are doing to this car
thank u very much glad u like it.
Car is looking great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I was able to pay that much attention to detail to a build but time constraints prevented me from doing so
time and patience is the key. i kinda lost patience towards the end. it was killing me seeing the car sit there for months. not sure if it was ever gonna be done, but luckily with the best wife and family in the world, i was able to pull through and finish up the car.
Simply killer.
I just have to ask where in the hell did you get those yellow recaro's ? Or did you get them re done ? im madly in love with them
my cousin got them for me in asia then shipped them to me.
